Chetwyn’s ‘claims to fame’ are the chainsaw carvings. These carvings are from international competitions and are dispersed around the town which makes for a lovely walk. These are just a few of the many.

We spent the night in Wonowan at Inga Lake which was nice and quiet but certainly not a lake to swim in.

The weather is still nice and it turned out to be a darned good thing as we headed up to Sikanni Falls. This 17km road would be impassable if it was wet and rainy.

The highlight of day certainly was seeing this guy. As soon as we saw him, we stopped to give him a chance to go where he wanted to. He seemed to be more curious about us and stood for a long time.

We made it to our campsites with just a couple of mishaps: one shelf in the fridge broke and the oven door came open dumping all of the melamine bowls out but breaking only one.

After lunch we headed out to hike to the water falls… Up hill both ways!

Okay so maybe not but it was quite a climb but so worth it!!!

As a side note: on our cross-Canada trip in 2019, we noticed that most provinces but especially Nova Scotia, didn’t have anywhere for travelers to put garbage. Here in BC, they not only have many recepticles for garbage but some even have signs sayig they are for travelers’ use only.

I guess that is one of the many reasons why we can call it beautiful British Columbia!
