Our planned trip to Dawson City hit a snag with road closures. Thinking on our feet, we decided to take the scenic route through Beaver Creek, with a dip into Alaska and back into British Columbia.
The detour turned into an unforgettable adventure. The landscape was stunning, and we were lucky enough to spot a variety of wildlife.
We just can’t pass up mentioning this 1954 Dodge we saw at the Beaver Creek visitor centre.
The road conditions, however, were a different story. While paved in Alaska, the road seemed to have melted, making it seem more like we were in a boat hitting waves straight on.
Despite the bumpy ride, the highlight of the trip was undoubtedly our campsite. We were treated to a mesmerizing spectacle of caribou grazing as we relaxed by our campfire.
This unexpected detour turned into a unique and unforgettable experience, proving that sometimes the best adventures are the ones that take you off the beaten path.
A vintage car, now you don’t see those every day!!
