A Day of Whimsy: VCCC Vancouver’s Annual Carousel Event

On July 31, the Vancouver Chapter of the Vintage Car Club hosted an enchanting event that combined classic automobiles with a touch of childhood wonder. The annual gathering, held at the Burnaby Village Museum Carousel, was a perfect blend of nostalgia and fun.

Under the warm caress of the summer sun, over 90 members and guests enjoyed a leisurely picnic supper while exchanging stories and laughter. The picturesque setting provided an idyllic backdrop for showcasing around 25 vintage cars, their gleaming exteriors catching the light in a dazzling display.

But the day’s magic extended beyond the automotive realm. As if transported back to their own youth, attendees joined the younger generation in a thrilling ride on the historic C.W. Parker Carousel. This magnificent piece of craftsmanship, with its 36 hand-carved wooden horses and intricate details, offered a delightful escape from reality.

The event culminated on a sweet note with a stunning carousel-themed cake. It was a fitting finale to a day filled with joy, friendship, and a shared passion for vintage treasures.

The VCCC Vancouver has once again proven its ability to create unforgettable experiences. With events like this, it’s no wonder members are eager to mark their calendars for the next gathering.
