Port McNeil, Alert Bay, Port Hardy

I realize now that I have not yet reported that we are actually home now. My apologies to those who were trying to follow us as we go along. As I mentioned before, between the very rough roads and the sketchy internet service access, it was difficult to post while we were traveling.

Now, where did we leave off? Oh yes, we were heading to Port McNeil. We didn’t find very much to see or do here but we did go to a farmers’ market and walked around while we waited for our flat tire to get fixed. More about that little hiccup later.

We moseyed around for so long that we ended up taking the ferry to Alert Bay too late to get to Sointula as well. I guess we can add Sointula to the next trip. Most things were closed in Alert Bay so we explored as much as we could and then took the ferry back. Here are a few photos from our walk about.

At Port Hardy, we visited the Visitor Centre, explored the neighbourhood a bit and then walked the path along the shore.

We camped at Lake Georgie which was really nice but the weather was getting colder and off-and-on rain.

If the trip had ended here, we would have been satisfied. But wait! There is more to come! Next, we will be on our way to Cape Scott. Stayed tuned!
