Since we had decided to go a different route, which brought us to Deleau-Sifton Centennial Park, we then had to look for an alternate place than the one I had previously mapped out. When we stopped for gas and propane, the fellow at the gas station, told us about the Spruce Woods Provincial Park that was just down the road. We decided to take this little detour. There was a lookout where the ferry used to cross the Assiniboine River and it had sand dunes. In my research notes, I had found Silver Lake which was east of Kenora about 17 kilometers off the main highway. We arrived to find a beautiful lake — covered with ice!By the next day, the ice had all melted .
It had a little sandy beach and enough room for 2 to 3 campers but no big trailers or RVs.
So far, we have found quiet and beautiful camp spots. Perhaps this is due to the fact that we are outside tourist season. More adventures to come….
Beautiful! always better to travel during the off season to avoid the crowds 🙂
Looks fabulous, glad you’re having a good time.
